What is FLEX?
FLEX time is one half-hour each day for students to receive services in ESL and ERC. At the same time, students will receive additional instruction in math and reading. Other students will have a more general focus, during which we will look at a variety of topics. Students will be regularly assessed and moved, as appropriate.
What electives will my child have?
Each child will have one half-year of drama, music, PE, and art. Students in CSS were divided into two groups, each group having both sixth and seventh graders. Students will have two electives each semester, one on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the other on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What is this autodialer?
This year, Bridger is beginning to use an autodialer. Basically, you will receive an automated telephone call each day if your child is absent. There is more information in your child’s opening packet, or feel free to contact the office with questions.
What about textbooks & Lockers?
This year, PPS has adopted a new reading/writing series and also a history series. You will see your child bringing home several textbooks in these areas, and also in math and science. If your child loses or ruins these, your family will be responsible for paying the replacement costs. At this time, students do not have lockers, and will be carrying all of their supplies, backpacks, coats, skateboards, helmets, lunches, and any other equipment/supplies with them all day. If you have questions or concerns about this, please contact Ms. Daily.
What is community service?
During this time, sixth and seventh graders will be together. Each week we will be doing different activities. For example, going on field trips, career pathways (where students investigate different careers and how to attain them), helping around the school, finishing projects, or having guest speakers.
What if I still have questions about scheduling, middle school, or anything else?
Please don’t hesitate to drop by, call, or email me.
